About Tisha Green
Tisha Green is a lifelong horseman: When she was a child, her mother bought her an off-the-track thoroughbred to learn to jump. She showed Open Jumpers as a youth, rode her horse on the trails in the San Bernadino Mountains, and discovered dressage by watching Reiner Klimke win the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics. Today, she is well-read and remains open to learning from the masters of the discipline; she has trained numerous winter seasons with other noteworthy trainers at Arroyo Del Mar.
Tisha’s horsemanship has a wide scope. She was instrumental in organizing and assisting the USDF Instructors Training Program in Utah, completed the USDF Instructor/Trainer Program, and also completed the USDF “L” Program, the educational program for judging. Tisha has organized numerous clinics in Park City, offering expert instruction by recognized trainers, competitors, and a former director of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
Tisha has trained her own horses with her dressage mentors, bringing them through the levels of USDF. She earned the national USDF bronze medal in 2006, the silver medal in 2011, and in 2021 received the USDF Master’s award in the FEI Open Division. Her curriculum vitae also includes numerous other awards in dressage. An FEI rider, stallion owner, trainer, breeder, and instructor, currently Tisha is training her younger stallion through the levels of USDF dressage and showing her Royal Dutch warmblood mare. She believes that riding daily is essential.
With her deep experience, discerning eye, and understanding of the searching and vetting process, Tisha has a unique ability to find the best horse for her riders; she has traveled to Europe to find her personal horses. Offering a thoughtful, respectful approach, her training philosophy is informed by her education, love for horses, and knowledge of their cognitive ability.
Tisha has been instrumental in the building and creation of SkyRidge Equestrian in Park City. Her vision for the facility involves teaching with a hands-on approach to dressage and horsemanship, an educational calendar, dressage shows, and other interesting equine events.
